This accessibility statement applies to all parts of the Check your ETA service under the domain check-your-travel-permission.homeoffice.gov.uk.

- change colours, contrast levels and fonts
- zoom in up to 300% without the text spilling off the screen
- navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
- navigate most of the website using speech recognition software
- listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)
We have also made the website text as simple as possible to understand.
AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.

Compliance status
This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard, due to the non-compliances listed below.
Non-accessible content
The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.
Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations
Session timeout
After a period of inactivity the user is timed out, meaning they lose the information they have entered and need to start again. The user is not notified of this session time limit. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 2.2.6 (Timeouts).
When the session is about to time out, the user cannot extend their session. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 2.2.1 (Timing adjustable).
We plan to fix these by the end of April 2026.
If you find other issues with the service
If you find an issue that we have yet to identify, please contact us using one of the routes described in the ‘Reporting accessibility problems with this website’ section of this statement.
Disproportionate burden
At this time, we have not made any disproportionate burden claims.
Content that is not within the scope of the accessibility regulations
At this time, all content is within scope of the accessibility regulations.
Preparation of this accessibility statement
This statement was prepared in October 2025. This is the first publication of the statement.
This website was last audited in October 2025. Testing was carried out internally by the Home Office.
We tested the service based on a user's ability to check their ETA. All parts of the chosen journeys were tested, including documents. Journeys were chosen on a number of factors including usage statistics, risk assessments and subject matter.
